Purpose of The White Rock Fund

DEAR CHRISTIAN BROTHER OR SISTER

There are two primary reasons why The White Rock Fund exists:

  1. First, the Great Commission of our Lord is important. Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations." The White Rock Fund is a group of Christians working together to take the gospel to every nation. The Fund provides financial assistance to Churches of Christ for faithful teachers and preachers around the world.
  2. Second, we are concerned about a spiritual drift sweeping through our brotherhood. Even after our deaths, the Trustees of The White Rock Fund want these resources to be used to support faithful teachers and never fall into the hands of those who would change the gospel message. There is more legal protection for these assets than most congregations have in place to protect their church properties from falling into the wrong hands.

In a desire to ensure the Fund does not become a "missionary society" contributions are not solicited from churches. Neither does the Fund employ or oversee individual missionaries. However, individual Christians are invited to contribute to The White Rock Fund so that grants may be given to Churches of Christ to meet their goals.

All contributions to the Fund that exceed its budget are prudently invested. At the end of each year the Trustees set aside 12.5% of the total value of the Fund as grants to be given to Churches of Christ for mission work.

The Trustees goal is that by the end of 2017 around 100 missionaries will benefit from these grants.

The Trustees feel a sense of responsibility to see that grants are provided to those who faithfully teach the gospel. Each recipient of the Fund’s resources must affirm a commitment to fundamentals of the Faith as stated in the Articles of Incorporation under the heading "Statement of Faith."

You are invited to share the vision of The White Rock Fund by making a tax-deductible contribution. You can send your contribution to: The Trustees, The White Rock Fund, P.O. Box 180274, Dallas, Texas 75218. If you prefer, your contribution may be made on-line. We encourage you to include The White Rock Fund in your will and estate planning.

Congregations which desire to apply for a grant to supplement their mission budget may make a request in writing to the Trustees, "The White Rock Fund," P.O. Box 180274, Dallas, Texas 75218.

The Trustees will be glad to answer any question you have at any time.
