Since 1989 their work has been overseen by the elders at the Forest Park Church of Christ (fpcc.org). The English family works closely with short-term workers to evangelize, edify, and equip, making regular mission trips from their home base in American Samoa to other Pacific Island nations. Belgium, Jean Marie Frerot, Sand Springs Church of Christ
Jean-Marie and Suzanne Frerot. Jean-Marie and Suzanne have been preaching in Verviers, Belgium for over 50 years, the area where both were raised. It is the French-speaking part of the country, so many of the members have come from French-speaking areas throughout the world, especially Africa. The congregation in Verviers meets in their own building near the center of the city and attendance is approaching 100, often times leaving standing room only. An upper area of the building is used as an extension learning center for students from Freed-Hardeman college. While the contributions of the Verviers congregation cover the expenses of the building, it is not enough to support Jean and Suzanne’s living expenses, which is where Sands Springs has been able to help throughout the years. Members of the Sand Springs congregation have visited the Frerots and the Verviers congregation and another visit will take place in 2014. Jean-Marie and Suzanne have three grown children and several grand-children in France, the Middle East and in Virginia.Brazil

Brazil, Giovanni Vantuil, Kingwood Church of Christ
Giovanni Vantuil is the local director at CHIE. He has been the heart and soul of the institute and teaching staff from the founding of the institute. For many years he was the primary teacher and individually responsible for the teaching and training of the students. In fact, it was the sponsor’s concern for his physical and spiritual well-being that led the elders to seek some relief for Giovanni as they recognized the excessive demands being made of him as both a school of preaching director and teacher as well as a missionary in the greater Belo Horizonte region. Giovanni is well regarded throughout the Brazilian church and enjoys a stellar reputation in the area. He is often the first call people will make when there is a need or crisis within one of the local congregations. He is known not only for his knowledge but also for his conciliatory spirit. He is an excellent teacher and still carries the bulk of the teaching responsibility at the Institute. My addition to the staff not only provided him some relief but also allowed him to devote some time to personal discipleship, and he has become a point of reference in Brazil in the area of a balanced, responsible discipleship ministry.Cuba
